Former San Diego Charger Tim Dwight now co-owns a solar development company called Integrated Power Corporation and was recently at the state capitol in Des Moines, Iowa advocating for solar energy adoption. Dwight played at the University of Iowa. Senate File 99, sponsored by State Senator Joe Bolkcom (D - Iowa City) would offer $10 million in rebates covering up to 30 %, a maximum of $15,000 for a farm or business and $3,000 for a residence, of solar installations. It is estimated that the bill would pump $332 million into the Iowa economy and create 5,000 jobs installing or designing solar panels. Ames, Iowa is home PowerFilm, Inc., a maker of flexible solar cells, a local company that would benefit from this legislation.
