Tax Plan Extends Grants for Renewable Energy Projects

President Obama's tax cut extension compromise legislation that he recently signed included a provision that will continue to help the implementation of renewable energy projects.  The US Department of Treasury Section 1603 Program provides an upfront 30% grant to the builders of renewable energy plants in lieu of later tax credits.  This credit has helped to kickstart the implementation of renewable energy projects in California and beyond.
