There is nothing like a baseball game in the daytime on a bright sunny day. How about that bright sunny day powering the ballpark? A ballpark complex that houses the Class A Lancaster JetHawks baseball team is going solar. A carport will be equipped with a 1,500 panel, 340 kilowatt that will provide up to 98% of the energy needed in the ballpark's operations. This installation is part of a Solar Lancaster program which will see solar energy going on 115 buildings and providing up to 12.5 megawatts of energy. Lancaster has the laudable goal of becoming the Alternative Energy Capitol of the World. Grid neutral stadiums should be a goal of builders and communities. Other cities and counties of California should follow Lancaster's example and harness the energy that is falling unharnessed on it's structures much of the year.
